KEIGHLEY & Craven made home advantage count in the third round of the West Yorkshire Cross-Country League.

They won two team events at Cliffe Castle – the under-13 girls and under-11 boys – and were second in the under-15 boys, under-13 boys and under-11 girls age groups.

Meanwhile, Silsden-based Wharfedale Harriers just missed out on the team podium at under-13 boys, finishing fourth, while Keighley & Craven were fifth in the under-15 girls.

Individually, Lilli Carr did best for Keighley & Craven, finishing second in the under-13 girls, seven seconds behind Eve Jones (Skyrac), while the host club also won bronzes via Tom Barrett (under-15 boys), Mia Petrucci (under-11 girls) – a second ahead of clubmate Harisah Khafoor – and Sam Conroy (under-11 boys).

Jack Smith was Wharfedale Harriers' best individual, coming third among the senior men in 24min 15sec behind Ilkley Harrier Tom Adams (23:24) and Leeds City's Emile Cairess (23:43).

Wharfedale won that team event, with Lee Athersmith (eighth), Christian Holmes (ninth), Jonathan Bradshaw (21st), Harry Muir (24th) and Gareth Hird (27th) also counting.

Eve Crossley (eighth) and Beth Roberts (16th) made up the winning Keighley & Craven under-13 girls' team, while Charlie Whitehead (eighth) and Sam Benson (15th) completed their triumphant under-11 boys' line-up.

Joe Hudson (sixth) and Ryan Watmough (12th) helped Keighley & Craven to under-15 boys' team silver, while Rhys Watmough (sixth), Finlay Whitehead (ninth) and Arthur Peel (14th) helped them be runners-up among the under-13 boys, Emma Peel (21st) backing up Petrucci and Ghafoor as the under-11 girls claimed silvers.
