ASH Lindsay scooped the player of the year accolade at Cougars' end of season awards night.

The popular loose forward's 2015 campaign was in danger of ending back in July when he broke his leg at Coventry Bears.

But he fought his way back to fitness in time for Cougars' promotion play-offs, having had a great first half of the season.

Lindsay was also awarded the try of the season for his effort against East Leeds in the iPro Sport Cup, though he in turn dedicated the prize to the late Danny Jones, who made a reverse flick pass to set the score up.

Also nominated for the player of the year award were prop Scott Law and half-back Paul Handforth, who won the players' and supporters' gongs respectively.

Aaron Nicholson scooped a double in the reserve awards, winning both the player of the year and the player's player prize.
