KEIGHLEY'S Leah Moorby was presented with her GB Taekwondo Junior Female Athlete of the Year Award in Manchester last weekend.

The Oakbank student remained unbeaten domestically last season, claiming her third straight British title, and also won a European bronze.

This is Leah's final year as a junior and promises to be a busy one for the 16-year-old.

Her goal this year is selection for the Junior World Championships in November in Vancouver.

With selection criteria events in Holland, Germany and Austria, a heavy schedule awaits but Leah must balance her sport with her education as she takes her GCSE exams this spring.

Her dad Gary said: "This year will be a challenging one for Leah but hopefully with the right planning and support she will be successful on the mat and in her exams."
