With Division One leaders Haworth's game against Sutton not starting due to the weather, Bingley Congs had the chance to join the men from Bronteland at the top of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League.

Second-placed Congs needed to beat Riddlesden at Beckfoot Lane to achieve that but in the end they were glad of rain halting proceedings.

Congs could only make 113 as Mohammed Arshad took 6-21, including a hat-trick.

Zahid Mahmood (33), Aftab Khan (23no) and Mo Qadeer (20no) were powering the Grange Road side to the points and had reached 81-1 off 17 overs when the heavens opened.

Probably the hardest done by side were Crossflatts, however.

They had restricted home side Oakworth to 145, second-team skipper Steve Powell, batting at No 9, making 54 as Mohammad Jamil and Alex Bradbury both took three wickets.

The Ryshworth Park lads were storming to the points and had reached 118-2 in only 15 overs when the umpires called time.

Dom Bennett hit 63 from 54 balls, including six fours and five sixes, and Vikram Bakshi cracked five sixes in his 36 not out.

Cowling were in the hut for 118 at The Coliseum with Ajmal Choudhry having scored 62 and Cameron Foster taking 5-29, but Denholme's reply had only reached 13-0 when rain stopped play.

There was no play between Embsay and Ingrow St John’s.

In Division Two, leaders Wilsden were on the wrong end of a firestorm at home to Chatburn, where the Ribble Valley side blasted 228-4 in 34 overs, with Mark Nerenburg leading the way with a superb 88-ball 129 not out, which included nine fours and 13 sixes as he put on 155 for the third wicket with Neil Cartledge (49).

The Windy Grove side had made 21-1 in reply.

Second-placed Hepworth & Idle were well placed to take the points at home to Bradley.

Richard Taylor (47), Jonathan Thompson (45) and Dave Matthews (41) had seen them to 216-8.

In the reply of 37-4, Caspar Bean had scored 22 not out as Andy Horner took 3-12.

Mathew Cox was in the runs again for Airedale, making 85 to go with 50 from Sean Knapper to take their score to 227 as Mark Pickles claimed 4-73.

Ten-man visitors Glusburn were never in the hunt and were shot out for 45, with Saqib Javaid taking 6-23.

There was no play in the Thornton v Oakworth II and Ingrow St John’s II v Ingrow games.
