HAWORTH Road Meths, winners twice in the past nine years and one of the favourites this season, have been knocked out of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League's Cowling Cup at the second-round stage.

Zeesham Aslam took 45 balls to reach 100 not out (four fours, ten sixes), adding 128 unbroken for the third wicket with Rana Abbas (44no) as Sandy Lane II made 188-2.

The leading Division Two side were dismissed for 88, with Rob Greenwood making 38 as Liaqat Ali took 3-25 and Naveed Ul Hassan 3-20.

Haworth II were also in the runs at home to ten-man Long Lee II, rattling up 191-2, with Danny Spencer hitting 76 not out, Neil Rollins 51 and Darren Ellerton 43 not out.

Only Craig Pullen (11) then made double figures in the Golden View side's 50.

Dale Hoyle's 78 not out (six fours, six sixes) was the mainstay of Ingrow II's 147-6 at Hainworth – but Bingley Congs II got home for the loss of three wickets with four balls to spare, Tony Teale leading the way on 63.

The derby between Cononley II and Glusburn II went the way of the visitors by three wickets.

Paul Hogg (44) and Joel Birks (30) had helped the hosts to 122-7, with Richard Parkin (39) steering the Park Field side into the next round.

Wilsden II's Mudasser Riaz was the only bowler to hit the stumps in a bowl-off to send them through against Gargrave II, while Denholme II progressed 3-2 against Foulridge II.
