COUGARS head coach Paul March knows the pressure is on him and his side as they head into the Super Eights.

Sunday's 34-28 victory over York City Knights at Cougar Park in Keighley's final regular-season fixture brought an end to their three-game losing streak.

However, a sixth-place finish means the Cougars now have only three home fixtures and face four tough away games.

That includes a second trip this season to France to tackle undefeated League One leaders Toulouse Olympique.

March admitted: "It's no secret that I'm under pressure and that rubs off on the players.

"But we spoke before the (York) game and they did everything I wanted them to do and we just need to continue working hard in training and taking that hard work into games.

"It's week in, week out now and we know we have to go back to Toulouse and last time we were over there we let ourselves down massively – but they're a very good side and will take some beating.

"For me now, it's about going into every one of these games and making sure that we give 110 per cent and don't let ourselves down because we want to be coming off the field knowing we've done enough to win that particular game.

"If we do lose, then I want the lads coming into the dressing rooms knowing they haven't just given up like we did in Toulouse.

"But I also know that things will be different against some of the sides in the Super Eights.

"The difference at Rochdale was their dual-registration players and come the deadline on July 24, the likes of Rochdale won't have these players available to them any more.

"But it's up to us now and I'll back my squad to perform in any one-off game."

March also confirmed that he will be looking to extend the loan of Bulls winger Jonny Campbell. His initial month came to an end against the Knights, a game in which he scored a brace of tries.

"Johnny Walker gives us that spark we've been missing in the pack and he's with us for the entirety of the Super Eights – but I will need to speak to Bradford about Jonny Campbell," said March.

"Hopefully I'll be able to keep JC but we have the strength in depth and competition for places, so if he goes back it provides someone else with an opportunity."
