A NEW name is guaranteed to feature on the Mewies Solicitors Craven League's Cowling Cup.

Hosts Bingley Congs II and Denholme II both won their Twenty20 semi-finals to feature in the final at Ingrow on Sunday, August 14.

That match will revert to 40 overs per side and will start at 1pm.

Both semi-finals had to dodge the showers, with Congs making 142-7 against Crossflatts II, Tim Burnley manoeuvring the ball around the field well, despite becoming increasingly immobile due to injury and finishing with a runner.

Steve Carass weighed in with some lusty blows in his 28 as James Baxter took 2-18 and Charlie Hall 2-23.

The Ryshworth Park visitors could only make 125-5 in reply, with Charlotte Boulton and Kieran Temprill both making 34 to leave the game in the balance before Michael Baines gave Congs a late edge by taking 3-23.

Cowling II were at Denholme and made 108, with Mark Adams top-scoring with 43 as Michael Dennison took 3-20. The Bradford Road side then galloped home for the loss of one wicket with four overs to spare, with Dennison making 45 not out, Joe Greenwood 35 not out and Jack Harrison 29.
