Silsden's rich vein of form continued last Saturday with 78-run demolition of Rawdon.

Playing at Rawdon's Emmot Arms ground, Silsden, batting first, amassed a total 218 runs before being bowled out.

Silsden were this time led by a fine batting performance by wicketkeeper Lee Bilbrough. Bilbrough hit 69, with 26 of his runs coming in the last over off Rawdon's Mark McEneaney.

Yasa Ali once again made a solid contribution with the bat, adding 42 runs to the total. And Omar Khatab chipped in with a knock of 23. Overseas player Nick Williams was Rawdon's best bowler. The Aussie took 4-51 in his 15 overs.

The Rawdon reply was led by opener Jamie Pickering who had a knock of 52. But he received little support from the rest of the line-up and Silsden's bowlers scuttled them out for just 140 runs.

Overseas bowler Zeeshan Quasim tore through the Rawdon line-up, taking five wickets, while giving up 44 runs in his 14 overs. He also had three maidens.

Nadeem Shahid and Yasa Ali took 2-39 and 2-41 respectively.

The win moves Silsden up to third in Division Two, only one point behind league leaders Guiseley. They are level on points with Harden who are in second place because they have one more win than Silsden.

This Saturday are at home to Tong Park.

l Steeton dropped to bottom of Division One after they lost at home to second placed Collingham.

Batting first Collingham looked in some trouble at 108-5, but late runs from Tim Hollis (56) and P Tulip (44) helped them to reach a substantial 272 runs all out in their 50 overs.

The pick of the Steeton bowlers was junior Stephen Pearson, who took 3-52 in his 12 overs. There were two wickets each for Jon Best (2-63) and Neil Spragg (2-73).

Wicketkeeper Neil Wilson was in sparkling form as he conceded no byes while collecting a Club record-equalling six catches, including his 100th catch for the first team.

Chasing Collingham's 272 runs, Steeton lost wickets regularly with Aussie Hagan Shakespeare (20) and Chris Meehan (20), both getting starts which they were unable to convert into significant contributions.

Best certainly did make a significant contribution as he scored 75 runs from 61 deliveries with two sixes and 14 fours.

Best shared an eighth wicket stand of 48 runs with in-form Neil Wilson, who contributed 22 runs.

However, Steeton never looked likely to challenge the Collingham total, and Steeton finished on 177 all out and so lost by 95 runs.

This Saturday Steeton are away at Green Lane while on Sunday they host Third Division side Addingham in the Waddilove Cup.

Steeton's second team are also in action on Sunday when they travel to Thackley in the third round of the Birthwhistle Cup.
