COWLING notched the surprise result in Division One of the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League.

They defeated hosts Skipton Town 4-0, handing them their first defeat of the season thanks to a treble by man of the match Craig Gregory and a single by Luke Barker.

Oxenhope Rec lost 3-1 at Manningham All Stars in the last midweek fixture before spring, with Eddie Jackson their man of the match, and went down 6-0 at home to Chatburn at the weekend, when All Stars beat Bingley Juniors 4-1 and Jake Brearey took the Oxenhope award.

Premier Division leaders Silsden Whitestar have been scoring an average of over three goals per game in winning five out of five but had to settle for a 1-0 victory at home to ninth-placed Trawden Celtic, with Sam Stanfield bagging his seventh goal of the season and James Wilson getting the gong.

Wilsden Athletic, who were third, lost 5-1 at Skipton LMS, their solitary goal coming from man of the match Dave McCarten.

Gong winner Jack Wrigglesworth was on target for Cross Hills in their 5-1 setback at Pendle Renegades.

Settle United Reserves are third in a tight Division Two after a 4-2 triumph at Cross Hills Reserves, for whom Edward Jenkins and Luke Newton replied with Liam Daniel man of the match, while Broomhill Reserves found their shooting boots in Division Three at Earby Town Reserves.

They won 9-0, with braces from Ben Barraclough and Luke Thornton, plus singles from Bradley Coles, Mark Hardman, Michael Turner and substitutes Joe Slater and Jake Ward.

James Hitch was on target for Silsden Whitestar Reserves in their 2-1 defeat at Salts Reserves, while Joe Hunt was man of the match.
