GUISELEY and Lincoln City will battle it out for the right to take on National League rivals Altrincham in the first round of the FA Cup when they line up at Nethermoor for their fourth qualifying round replay tonight.

The Lions wrestled home advantage away from the Imps with a determined rearguard action at Sincil Bank at the weekend.

Danny Cowley’s side piled the pressure on, especially in the second half, in the first meeting which ended goalless.

Lions boss Adam Lockwood is looking forward to having a second bite at the cherry.

And following two league wins before Saturday’s draw at promotion-seeking Lincoln, he feels confidence is high among the players.

He said: “A run in the FA Cup is always special and we want to progress – we want to win every game.

“If you go on a run it’s great for the club and for the individuals and I’ve said to the players that some of them might never have been on a run in this competition.

"But when it happens it’s a good time and you can get a lot of memories from it.”

Altrincham are now under the stewardship of former FC Halifax Town boss Jim Harvey.

He took over with the club struggling near the foot of National North, but they booked their place in the FA Cup first round with a 3-1 home win over Matlock Town.

The supporters will be segregated at tonight’s game at Nethermoor with the Imps’ fans in the Railway End.

There is cup football elsewhere this evening with two ties involving the area’s clubs in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Cup.

Thackley have home advantage in the third round but they face a tough tie as they host Bridlington Town in an all Premier Division clash.

Albion Sports are immediately below near neighbours Thackley in the top division and they travel to Division One high-flyers Selby Town.

Eccleshill United are just one point adrift of third-placed Selby after a 7-1 away win at the weekend. They are in search of another maximum on the road when they head to Pontefract Collieries.

Silsden are also playing for points as they face the long journey to Hallmark Security League newcomers Carlisle City.
