Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division: Earby Town 5 Sporting Keighley 3
THE handicap of playing for 80 minutes with only ten men led to one of the shock results of the season.
Sporting Keighley had Harry Hussain sent off for deliberate handball in the penalty area after ten minutes and, not only did basement boys Earby Town convert the spot-kick, they also went on to notch their first win of the season.
But having said that, Sporting still created more than enough chances to win, and quickly equalised.
However, Town were leading 3-1 at half-time after a deflected shot and a good finish, although Sporting thought that third goal was offside.
Fired up, the visitors had drawn level with ten minutes left, the goals coming from Shazad Khan (2) and Aatir Zuber, but they also missed a penalty and had another one not given before Earby capitalised on some sloppy defending with two late headers to win it.
Good news is on the horizon for Sporting, however, as Alhassaine Keita, star man in 2015-16 who hasn't played so far this season due to injury, is due back in the next fortnight.
On Saturday, eighth-placed Sporting are at home to third-placed Rolls (2.00).
