CROSS HILLS gained only their second win of the season in the Craven League Premier Division, defeating Trawden Celtic 3-1, who are immediately above them, thanks to Harry Eastbury, man of the match Robert Matthews and Liam Mulloy.

They are now level on seven points, while Wilsden Athletic have 16 and are fifth after a 1-1 draw at home to Grassington United.

In Division One, Broomhill have slipped a place to sixth after a 5-1 home defeat to Skipton Town, man of the match Andy Tanner bagging the only reply, and there was no joy either in Division Two, where Cononley Sports and Cross Hills Reserves were beaten.

Sports were third going into their home match against AFC Barnoldswick but were sixth after a 6-1 home defeat, while star man Luke Newton netted the only goal for Cross Hills Reserves in their 3-1 setback at Grassington United Reserves.

Bradley Reserves have yet to win in Division Three this season but came close in a 3-2 loss at Settle United B, man of the match Andrew Golding and Tom Pilling scoring for the losers, but there were no such worries for Silsden Whitestar Reserves.

They beat visitors Broomhill Reserves 8-0 , with the marksmen being Bradley Fay (4), Ryan Narey (2), Jake Muir and substitute Oliver Stephenson, while Sutton suffered a surprise 2-1 setback at Salts Reserves.

Bingley Juniors Reserves defeated visitors Earby Town Reserves 7-1, while Cowling Reserves had a solid 2-0 victory at Horton thanks to Rory Entwhistle and Sam Woolley.

The Northern Plant Hire Trophy can pit teams from any division against each other.

That gives scope for big upsets, but it also opens up the likelihood of thrashings, and that is what happened to Oxenhope Recreation.

Rec, who are bottom of Division One, lost 17-0 at Pendle Renegades, who are second in the Premier Division, with 14 of the goals shared between three players – Jordan Slade (6), Nathan Taylforth (5) and Matthew Bowker (3).

Bradley, another Division One side, were beaten 7-1 at home by Division Two leaders Hellifield, also in the second round, with substitute Joe Parker getting the consolation.
