MATT Bailey cleaned up at Cougars’ annual awards night last Friday following his outstanding 2016 campaign.

The hard-working forward won a hat-trick of honours, namely the Players' Player of the Year, Player of the Year and Media Player of the Year.

Ritchie Hawkyard was named the Supporters’ Player of the Year and the full back also earned the Top Try-scorer Award with 15 touchdowns.

The Try of the Year went to Andy Gabriel for his record-breaking 15-second effort against York City Knights in July.

The First Team Rising Star award went to Hamish Barnes, while the Fun Bus Supporters’ Player of the Year award was claimed by Hawkyard.

The Fun Bus Supporters’ Most Improved Player award went to Ross Peltier, while the Reserves Clubman of the Year honour was claimed by Jack Brown.

The 2016 Harold Wilson Memorial Trophy winner went to Carl McGuigan and the Reserves Team Player of the Year was claimed by Lewis Davey, who was also named Reserves Players' Player of the Year.

The Reserves Rising Star Award went to Chris Cullimore, while long-serving football manager Jeremy Crowther won the 2016 Clubman of the Year.

Meanwhile, Cougars' home game against the newly-formed Toronto Wolfpack on Sunday, March 26 will be televised live on Premier Sports.
