Keighley & District FA Sunday Cup quarter-final: Keighley Athletic 5 Cullingworth Youth 2
ATHLETIC were 4-1 up by half-time against a Cullingworth side who only had 11 players – and one of those was carrying an injury.
Keighley's first goal in the tenth minute was a cracker in the tenth minute and they soon added to their tally in a dominant first-half display.
Dave Sanderson replied with a goal for Youth, who redeemed themselves after the break with an improved dispaly, despite two more players sustaining injuries.
They had as much possession and created as many chances as their hosts. However, it was Athletic who extended their lead in the first five minutes before Joshua Town replied for Youth.
Both keepers were kept busy for the remainder of the game, with Youth’s stand-in Harry Jarman impressing between the sticks. Referee Ian Gardner also had a great game.
Athletic were worthy winners, with Youth again seeming to save their best play for the second 45 minutes.
On target for Keighley were Callum Weir (3), Robbie Davison and Joe Brady.
Youth are at home to Armley Rangers in the second round of the Wharfedale Triangle League Cup on Sunday, while Keighley Athletic host Premier Division leaders Sky Bet in the same competition.
Sandy Lane 2 Keighley Town 4 (after extra-time)
This match proved to be a pulsating cup tie, with Town going through in extra-time after the sides were locked at 2-2 in 90 minutes.
Keighley's scorers were Leon Smith (2), Andy Carr and Dan McHugh.
Keighley Town are at home to Otley Tavern in the League Cup on Sunday.
