SPORTING Keighley were one of the few teams from the Skipton Body Repair Craven League to progress in the West Riding County FA Challenge Trophy.

The Premier Division club defeated visitors Garforth Rangers 2-0 to book a fourth-round tie at home to FC Prince, who ended the run of Silsden Whitestar 3-0 in Ferrybridge.

Sporting, who went ahead thanks to a stunning goal by Saqab Rashid after 15 minutes, should have won by more than two goals.

Saqab picked up a through ball on the right and lobbed the keeper from outside the area on the right, and Nisar Yaseen finished the game off with a nice finish into the bottom right-hand corner in the second half.

In the Premier Division, Wilsden Athletic, without a win in five matches, ended their losing run with a 2-1 home victory over Trawden Celtic to climb from seventh to fifth, but tenth-placed Cross Hills went down 9-0 at home to new leaders Rolls.

In the First Division, Cowling had only three scorers but netted seven goals in their home victory against Broomhill, who had two sent off.

Sam Woolley led the way with a hat-trick, while Craig Gregory and Jack Stephenson each bagged a brace, while Andy Tanner got the consolation for Broomhill, who had Matthew Kershaw (red) and David Rhodes (two yellows) dismissed.

David Hunt's brace was not enough for Bradley, who were only trailing visitors AFC Colne 3-2 at half-time but conceded three without reply in the second half, while Oxenhope Rec lost 4-0 at Chatburn.

Cononley Sports are up from sixth to third in the Second Division on the back of a 4-1 win at Trawden Celtic Reserves, but Cross Hills Reserves had a bad day, losing 2-1 to hand hosts Otley Town only their second victory of the season.

The Third Division Cup tie between Broomhill Reserves and Horton, who are only separated by one place in the table, was predictably close, with Horton winning 3-2.

In league fixtures, second-placed Silsden Whitestar Reserves led 8-0 at home to Settle United Thirds, with Brad Fay (3), man of the match Ryan Narey and substitute Mark Smith being among the scorers, while fourth-placed Sutton were 2-0 up at half-time at fifth-placed Barlick Wanderers but ended up drawing 3-3.

Will Beckwith (2) and Aiden Robertson netted for Sutton, whose man of the match was Dave Snowden.

Thabani Songo again won the gong for Cowling Reserves, who lost 6-1 at leaders Ilkley, but Bradley Reserves gained only their second point of the season after a 1-1 draw at fellow strugglers Addingham.
