KEIGHLEY'S Ibrahim Nadim produced one of his best performances to reach the final in the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs' Boxing Championships.

The Bury Amateur Boxing Club member swept to a unanimous points victory over Conor McCourt from Belfast-based Clonard ABC in the class C semi-final at Croxteth, Liverpool.

Now the 17-year-old, who is the cousin of Keighley Olympian Muhammad Ali, is aiming to claim the 46-49kg title in tomorrow's final at Bridlington.

His trainer Mike Jelley said: "He boxed absolutely brilliantly. I was very impressed and it was possibly the best I've seen him box.

"Conor was a real fighter rather than a boxer. I told Ibby to keep away from him in the first round but he didn't. He got in there and beat him at his own game.

"Then he boxed the lad's head off after that. He peppered him with jabs and beat him to the punch.

"He's done really well over the last three or four fights and has been getting better each time.

"His timing has improved, he has looked fitter and winning breeds confidence."
