SILSDEN’S world champion stock car racer Frankie Wainman Junior heads the list of 13 drivers featuring in the Autosport International at Birmingham's NEC.

The BSCDA Driver of the Year tops the line-up as the BriSCA F1s are ready to raise the roof again in the Live Action Arena at the Racing Car Show, which starts tomorrow and runs until Sunday.

The 5,000-seater indoor spectacle at one of Europe’s biggest motorsport shows is being hosted by Sky Sports F1’s commentator David Croft.

Adding colour and lifting the decibel level, the 700bhp Chevy V8-powered BriSCA F1s are always a crowd-pleaser and one of the live highlights.

The entire Wainman Racing team will be involved, with Wainman Jnr’s son Frankie Jnr Jnr and daughter Phoebe also taking part, as well as brother Danny.

“It’s always fantastic to able to show motorsport fans what BriSCA F1 stock car racing is all about," said 45-year-old Wainman Jnr, who will be flying out to New Zealand next week ahead of the Superstock Team Championships on February 4-5.

“With it being an indoor track, the noise the cars make is always a talking point. The crowd absolutely love it.”

Also in the thick of the action will be former World and National Points Shootout champion Stuart Smith Jnr, Brisca F1’s Personality of the Year, Mick Sworder, and former British champion Paul Hines.

The F1s take to the arena throughout the show and it is expected they will feature in more than the traditional simulated racing events with new performances included. There will also be on-screen footage and introductions of each of the drivers.

Wainman Jnr’s World Championship-winning shale car will also be on display in the Oval Racing section in Hall 10.
