WEST Bowling have retained their nine-point advantage at the top of the Sports Bulk Suppliers Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division after an 8-0 thrashing of struggling Bolton Woods at Emsley’s Recreation Ground.

The hosts opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Chris Wood produced some tricky footwork before rifling a shot into the net.

Michael O'Brien then linked up with Josh Milner to open up the away defence for full back Tom Lambert to score his first goal of the season, but, thanks to some good goalkeeping by the visitors' stopper, the score remained the same up to the interval.

The second half started with the visitors making a rare attack into Bowling's box, and a fine save by Ashley Onitiri helped him to his tenth clean sheet of the season.

Then Aidan Day's shot from the edge of the box deceived said keeper and went under his body before Josh Milner's 20-yard shot went in by a post.

O'Brien's corner was then met by a powerful Wood header to make it 5-0, and the others were scored by Lambert and man of the match Danny Brown-Weatherhead (2), whose first was Bowling's 100th of the season.

Oakenshaw took a first-half lead at home to Sandy Lane with a diving header from Dan O Donnell.

The visitors replied on 70 minutes through Mathew Cavanagh but Oakey netted via man of the match Josh Ludford and Andy Tasker before Lee Smith scored for County Cup semi-finalists Lane to give Oakenshaw a nervy last five minutes.

Allerton defeated visitors Thornton United 4-3 in a thriller, a Danny Murley thunderbolt putting Allerton ahead.

Toni Richards added a second before Marcus Edwards halved the deficit before half-time.

Thornton then hit two goals through substitutes Ryan Canning and Ryan Stubbs to lead 3-2 but Allerton's Ben O'Melia equalised with ten minutes to go before man of the match Murley bagged a last-minute winner for Allerton.

Lyceum beat Grass Greener United 3-0 at Arkwright Street to remain as First Division leaders, Daljit Aujla Singh (2) and Ben Bateman netting, while Swaine Green stayed third after a 7-0 victory at Beldon Oddies, with Sam Bradley bagging a hat-trick.

After losing the first match of the season the previous week, Division 1A front-runners Station Hotel comprehensively returned to winning ways, defeating Clayton Village Sports & Social 9-1, with Lewis Carroll, Dean Cawdray and substitutes Sam Morton and James Sugden getting braces.

Station, who are still in two cup competitions, are a point ahead of fading Woodman Wanderers with three games in hand.

Wrose Bull hit double figures at Shoulder of Mutton, with Mathew Barok netting five for the winners.

In the top-of-the-table clash in Division 1B, Salts won 2-1 at Westwood Park, Nathan Hartley and Ryan Whitfield finding the net for the leaders.

YMCC are now second after a 6-1 home victory over Oddfellows Celtic, with Lee Smith scoring another hat-trick.

AFC Titans also netted six (against Salthorn Victoria) with Michael Dougan hitting a ten-minute hat-trick either side of the interval.

In Division 2A, Tyersal remain second position, with matches in hand over Eastward, after an 11-0 triumph at Eccleshill Athletic, the prolific Luke Cook scoring four and Josh Finnan and Tyrone Price two each.

Wibsey remain a threat in Division 2B, notching their 20th goal in two matches by the end of their 11-2 success at Chapel House, three being scored by Jonny Brennan, following a 9-1 triumph at leaders Parry Lane.
