SILSDEN Whitestar have suffered a big blow to their Craven League Premier Division title challenge.

Their 1-0 defeat at home to leaders Settle United means they are seven points behind them with four matches left, although Whitestar have a game in hand.

The Silsden side have also dropped a place to fourth, although relegation-threatened Cross Hills did their best to help them, only going down 4-3 at home to Skipton LMS, who are now third.

Rob Matthews, John Thompson and Jack Wigglesworth netted for Cross Hills, whose man of the match was Scott Newton.

Sporting Keighley, battling with Cross Hills to stay up, went down 6-3 at home to Grassington United, man of the match Leroy Hickman and substitute Mohammed Zubair being among Sporting's scorers.

In Division One, Broomhill showed up well in a 3-2 defeat at second-placed Rolls Reserves, with Zain Abbas and Andy Tanner netting for the losers.

Cononley Sports, still hoping to push for promotion in Division Two, were involved in the match of the day, winning 6-5 at Skipton Town Reserves.

Chris Lumsden and Colin Throupe notched braces for the victors, whose man of the match was Jake Manditsch, Miroslav Allen and Craig Ebbrell also being on target.

Sutton had the main man in their Division Three victory over basement boys Bradley Reserves, man of the match Lukasz Sarosinki netting four, with Aiden Robertson, Mickey Ruddock and Nathan Todd making up the tally.

Cowling Reserves could only draw 3-3 at home to Addingham and dropped to tenth, swapping places with Sutton.

Rory Entwhistle, Callum Lowe and Luke Swindlehurst were Cowling's marksmen, but there was no joy for Broomhill Reserves, who lost 10-0 at home to leaders Ilkley.
