SILSDEN Whitestar have finished the 2016-17 season with a cup double.

Having already won the Keighley & District FA Challenge Cup, they beat Pendle Renegades 6-2 in the Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League's Premier Division Cup final at Sutton Playing Fields.

Whitestar, who only led 2-1 at half-time, pulled away in the second half against Renegades, with goals coming from Sam Stanfield (2), Zac Conway, Ben Geary, Josh McNulty and Mateusz Tomas.

Man of the match for Whitestar was James Wilson.

Cononley Sports finished the Division Two season in third place, leapfrogging Trawden Celtic Reserves and opponents Salts, courtesy of a 1-0 victory at Saltaire.

Sports, who were eight points behind runners-up Hellifield Sports, got the only goal in the second half thanks to Richard Osadzenko.

Cowling Reserves also climbed two places after a win, finishing seventh in Division Three after a 5-2 home triumph over Bingley Juniors Reserves.

Man of the match Alasdair McEwan and Luke Swindlehurst both bagged braces, with Rory Entwhistle completing the tally for the Keighley Road hosts.

Bradley Reserves were confirmed at the bottom of the pile, a point behind Earby Town Reserves, after a 6-1 defeat at fifth-placed Salts Reserves.

Salts scored three goals in each half, Bradley's reply coming via substitute Tom Pilling in the second period.
