FRASIER Lampkin proved a class apart in Bradford & District Motor Club's Acklams Beta British Solo Class B, C and D Youth Trials Championship.

While others struggled after the Skyrakes Farm venue above Gargrave recovered from the high winds of Friday night and the rain of Saturday morning, the son of Silsden legend Dougie Lampkin starred on his Beta 80 to beat Max Dance by 75 marks.

In the Class D medium-wheels category, Dominic Horne repeated his Mansfield Maun results with a clear victory over Keighley's Myles Hutchinson.

When the action switched to Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club's Brimham Rocks the following day in the same championship, the weather and terrain were different, but Lampkin again won his Class D medium-wheels class, doing it very much his own way.

In Class C medium-wheels electric, Hutchinson turned the tables on Horne, despite a heavy crash on section five.

On the same day, West Leeds Motor Club held their Stan Pitts Trophy Trial at Halton Gill, and Richard Sadler (Acklam Beta) avenged his defeat of last year by Harden publican Martin Crosswaite, going clean on the 42 observed sections.

Crosswaite came second, losing nine marks.

Main local event this weekend is Yeadon-Guiseley Motor Club's Club Trial on Sunday at Deer Park, Bingley (11am).
