CROSS Hills must have been fearing a double-figure defeat at half-time in their Skipton Body Repair Centre Craven League Premier Division clash at home to Silsden Whitestar.

The hosts were trailing 7-0 but got themselves together to share the second half 1-1 and therefore only lost 8-1.

Seven of the visitors got on the scoresheet, led by Sam Stanfield (2), who was followed by Peter and Scott Hanson, Rob Matthews, Joshua Metcalfe, man of the match Josh McNulty and Gavin Shearer.

Harry Eastbury bagged the consolation for Cross Hills, whose man of the match was Mark Hoban.

Sporting Keighley started their campaign with a 3-2 defeat at Manningham Allstars.

Broomhill were gifted an own goal in Division One by Chris Bell of Rolls Reserves, but the Keighley team still lost 4-2.

The visitors, whose man of the match was Michael Fazackerley, also scored from the penalty spot via Andy Tanner.

In Division Two, Silsden Whitestar Reserves drew 2-2 at home to Grassington United Reserves, with both sides scoring a goal a half.

Simon Cox and Bradley Fay netted for the hosts, whose gong winner was Mark Bradley.

Cowling triumphed 3-0 at Horton in Division Three, with all of the goals coming in the second half.

Tim McNee, Seth Wiseman and substitute Elliot Hollings hit the back of the net for Cowling, whose man of the match was Will Buffett.

Bingley Town Reserves made it two wins from two after a 3-1 victory at Broomhill Reserves, and top the table alongside newcomers Burnley Belvedere.
