OLYMPIC are still in pole position in the GOALS Soccer Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division.

Promoted from the First Division last season, they made it three wins out of three with an 8-1 home win over Bolton Woods, with Steve Hollingsworth bagging four of them, with Sohail Mohammad getting the sole reply.

West Bowling, in their 51st season in local football, started the defence of their title with a hard-earned 3-2 home victory over newly-promoted Lyceum at Emsley's Recreation Ground.

Joe Wood put the defending champions in front after 14 minutes but Glynn Beale equalised before Phil Brogan gave the hosts a 2-1 lead at the interval.

Beale then equalised again, and the game looked to be heading for a draw until Dave Halley hit a winner.

West Riding County Cup holders Sandy Lane were beaten 2-0 by a good Ventus United team, with Arran Irving hitting a double.

In the Championship Division, there were nine goals at Toller, with the hosts hitting six against Westwood Park's three, while there was a seven-goal thriller between Heaton Athletic and Prospect.

Heaton moved in front after 15 minutes through Josef Lytwyn, but Brandon Hammond equalised after 28 minutes, only for Jordan Northin to put Heaton ahead again a minute later.

Nathan Bailey was brought down in the box for Hammond to convert a spot-kick after 67 minutes, and Daniel Myas made it four 15 minutes later.

However, Prospect hit back in the 88th minute via Izaac Hurtault to keep the visitors on their toes.

In Division One, Parry Lane put seven past Mill Lane, with Brett Missin bagging a brace for the hosts, while at Arkwright Street, Tyersal beat Wibsey 5-2, with Josh Finan netting two for the winners.
