Bradford Sunday Alliance Championship: Crossflatts Village 0 Station Hotel 1

Station Hotel continued their good start to the season with an impressive win at Crossflatts Village.

Striker Benjamin Bateman scored the only goal after an hour as his side made it three league wins out of three.

It was an even contest with both goalkeepers Dan Thorpe (Crossflatts) and Mark Wilcox (Station Hotel) at the top of their games.

Village manager Kevin Gill was understandably disappointed after the game. He said: “It was a fairly even game but they put one away and we didn’t.

"We need to sharpen up in front of goal or we’ll keep getting punished. The teams in the Bradford Sunday Alliance make you pay if you don’t convert your chances.

"We’ve had a bit of a baptism of fire since joining this league but we are enjoying it and the team spirit is excellent. We will get there.”

Seventh-placed Village face FC Prospect at home on Sunday which, on paper, looks like another tasty encounter.

Prospect currently sit in second place after winning all three of their league games so far. Village will have to keep an eye on Prospect front man Brendon Hammond, who has started the season in great goal-scoring form.

Station Hotel travel to the league’s bottom placed side Bolton Woods Socials and will be confident of making it four wins on the bounce.
