THE Mewies Solicitors Craven League have agreed to implement the new MCC Laws 41 and 42 regarding penalty runs.

However, the league's annual meeting at Cross Hills Social Club agreed, by 19 votes to five, that they should only apply to Division One and Division Two.

It was agreed by 20-3 that penalty runs will not apply in Division Three, Division Four A and Division Four B.

It has also been agreed that clubs will lose league points for conceding fixtures – a point if a club has only one team, a point each for a first and second team if a second team concedes a fixture, and a point penalty for both second and third teams if a third team concedes a fixture.

A proposed rule change that the tea interval be extended by ten minutes to 30 minutes was passed 16-8, while a batting side can be asked to make a "reasonable search" for lost cricket balls during their innings (passed 22-2).
