A MUCH-IMPROVED second half performance saw Cullingworth Youth come from behind to beat Yeadon Athletic 4-2 at home.

Youth lacked cohesion and urgency in the first period, which saw the visitors first to the ball and controlling play.

They deservedly took the lead in the 15th minute and, though Kyle Fox equalised, Yeadon scored again to lead 2-1 at the interval.

Two substitutions and a positional change made the difference for Cullingworth in the second half, which they dominated.

Dave Sanderson equalised before two goals from Joshua Ellison, playing only his second game of the season, claimed a deserved victory.

The three points moved Youth up to fourth in the Wharfedale Triangle Premier Division, which is still led by Keighley Town after their 2-1 win at Hampsthwaite thanks to goals from Joe Drake and Michael Donohoe.

Keighley Athletic remain three points behind them but with two games in hand after they won 7-3 at Burton Leonard.

Liam McNicol led the way with a hat-trick, Sean Quinlan bagged a brace and Mick Goodwin found the target, with the hosts also putting one through their own net.

Athletic have the chance to draw level on points with Town on Sunday when they host Shipley Town, while Cullingworth head to Burton Leonard.
