THE Bradford Premier League has become the latest competition to postpone its opening day fixtures.
The entire April 21 programme will now be re-arranged for later in the season and the new dates will be announced next Wednesday.
The league's management board took the decision to call off the games after receiving messages from clubs who have been able to carry out preparatory work on their grounds during the exceptionally wet weather in recent months.
League chairman David Young said: "We have had dialogue with clubs and been to see a number of grounds for ourselves.
"In making the decision now we hope to prevent clubs from causing avoidable damage to their grounds by trying to prepare them when they are so wet."
The Aire-Wharfe, Craven and Nidderdale Leagues are other competitions to postpone their opening games.
