DREADFUL weather throughout this year's Bunny Run series did little to slow down imperious local runners Jack Wood and Alice Jones, who won all three races in their respective categories with ease.

Wood took the senior men's title and was able to celebrate with his Ilkley Harriers club mate Jack Cummings, who came second overall in the series, fought over the tricky terrain at Penistone Hill.

Jones romped home as first U15 girl in all three Bunny Runs on her way to becoming the series' female champion and winner of the U15 girls title. Second and third U15 girls were Keighley’s Niamh Conroy and Scarlett Metcalfe.

The difficulties presented by the weather and conditions underfoot did not stop the 180+ runners that gathered for each race enjoying the challenges and the chocolate rewards.

Prizes were awarded after each race but to win the series, runners had to compete in all three of the Bunny Runs.

Aside from Wood and Jones' wins, Keighley and Craven’s Lorna Hubbard and Ilkley’s Helen Wood came second and third respectively in the senior women's competition.

The U17 boys’ series title went to Wharfedale Harriers’ Alex Thompson who won two of the runs, with brother Will in second place. Meanwhile, Wharfedale’s Emily Jones took the U17 girls’ series title with Ilkley’s Charlotte Elston third.

Wharfedale Harriers' Sam Smith was first U15 boy in all three races and he took the series title, with the club's youngsters securing all of the junior series wins in an impressive effort.

Snow and rain caused trouble in the first and second runs respectively, but it was mist that proved to be an issue in the relay finale of the series, with runners striving to spot their raw egg "baton".

The winning team were “Al and John’s Disciples” comprising Joe Hudson, Tom Barrett and Jimmy Lund, while the first female and U17 girls’ team were “Happy Birthday Emily” comprising birthday girl Emily Jones, sister Alice and Ruby Firth.

The “Bingley Babes” (Eliza Findlay, Vicky Merrick, Lesley Watson) took the first senior ladies prize.

“Red/White/Blue” (Toby Middleton, Sam Smith, Alex Flaherty) stormed home to take the U15 boys’ team title, while the U15 girls’ title went to the “Bingley Belles” (Martha Jackson, Amelie Lane, Rebecca Flaherty).

Team "Al and John" (Harvey Lewis, Arthur Peel, Louis Hudson) were first U17 boys team.

Finally, U13 boys’ success went to “The Purge” (George McFie, Tom Owen, Charlie Pickens) with the U13 girls’ title being claimed by “The Rainbow Rabbits” (Hattie Bishop, Alice O’Sullivan, Megan Wilkinson).
