DENHOLME'S Ronnie Chokununga was in a hurry at Hepworth & Idle, but a moment of controversy cost the opener three figures in Division One of the Craven and District Cricket League on Sunday.

The visitors chased down 117 in 19.4 overs with all wickets standing. Chokununga hit nine sixes and nine fours in 59 balls to finish on 99 not out. He was denied a well-deserved century when, with one run required, a deliberate wide was bowled.

Earlier, Toby Priestley took 3-10 to rout the home side's batting line-up.

Leaders Barrowford were also quick to finish their match against Haworth. The visitors had posted 139, of which Stuart Jackson made 69, as Arsalaan Ali claimed 3-27.

For the Bull Holme side, Ashir Imdad let rip, hitting 15 fours and three sixes to finish on 91no as they dashed to a six-wicket win in 15.2 overs.

There was a similar bout of big hitting from Neil Copping as Bingley Congs won the battle of the second-placed teams at Beckfoot Lane.

Copping savaged the Oakworth attack with a 66-ball knock of 122, which included 10 sixes and nine fours, and with Chris Dibb making 64, they closed on 262-9. Joe Copperwaite bowled well to finish with 4-45.

The Wide Lane side closed on 119 as Harry Greenhalgh and Mohammed Adil ended with three wickets apiece.

Ingrow slumped to 16-5 at home to Sutton. However, they recovered to reach 265-7. Wayne Exley scored a super 102no, figuring in a sixth-wicket partnership of 135 with Dan Scott.

The visitors replied with 178, with Dave Snowden (48) and Sam Solley (39) leading the way as Jake Hoyle claimed 3-34.

Wilsden scored well to reach 187 with Chris Longley making 60 and Doug Richardson 41. Alex Bradbury bowled well to take 4-32. Visitors Crossflatts got home by four wickets with Bradbury and Raj Mariappan both making 36.

Joint Division Two leaders Foulridge and Airedale both won well. The former were away to Glusburn and knocked the Park Field side over for 142. Skipper Steve Brown top scored with 39 as Ummar Farooq took 4-25 in seven overs.

In reply, Foulridge sauntered home by nine wickets, led by Zaheer Abbas (83no) and Aamir Mohammed (52no).

Airedale entertained Cononley and restricted them to 137, of which skipper Andy Starkey made 33. Asad Ejaz (63no) led the Bradford Road to victory by six wickets despite Matthew Phillips' 3-21.

Sandy Lane made 134 on their visit to Cowling, with Zeeshan Ahmed making 54 and Will Bowden and Ajmal Choudhry each taking three wickets apiece. The hosts fell 20 runs short of their target.

Eldwick & Gilstead entertained Gargrave and the visitors were held to 112, with Mark Jones making 28 as Jordan Bayliss took 4-10. Tom Conneely and Steve Timperley both made 31 as the home side got home by five wickets.

Shahbaz Ahmed was the star of Long Lee’s five-wicket win over Bradford & Bingley III at Golden View. Ahmed took 6-14 as the visitors posted 115. Matthew Stowell made 30no for the hosts.
