OAKWORTH ended the unbeaten run of Mewies Solicitors Craven and District League Division One leaders Barrowford with a three-wicket victory.

Winning the toss, Barrowford batted first and registered 221-9 with skipper Johnny Ormerod (51) and Ashir Imdad (42) putting on 85 for the first wicket. Steady batting saw the score increase steadily, while Jack Ellis bowled a fine 12-over spell to finish with 5-35.

Oakworth's openers weathered a torrid spell from Mohammed Zulfiqar to put on 45 for the first wicket. Then Ben Howell (53) Lewis Wrathall (44) and Joe Copperwaite (33) helped set up the excellent victory reached in the 40th over.

Bingley Congs are the new leaders after they travelled to Haworth and won convincingly by 136 runs.

Going first, Congs amassed 210-9 with Mohammed Adel (45) and Matt Roberts (37no) leading the way as Jamie Rowell claimed 3-30.

In reply, only three batsmen reached double figures as the West Lane side subsided to 74 all out. Roberts (3-20) and Harry Greenhalgh (3-21) did most of the damage.

The Crossflatts revival continues as they move from -9 points at the start of the season to +3 with a four-wicket victory in a sometimes niggly game at Hepworth & Idle.

The Westfield Lane side were dismissed for 118 with new recruit Thomas Gadd (48) leading the way. Alex Bradbury (4-37) and Jodi Town Jones (3-26) taking the bowling honours.

Sutton entertained Haworth Road and had them dismissed for 146 with Mansha Khan making 36 and Rob Greenwood 27 as Justin Holdsworth claimed 4-16 and Rich Walker (3-35). Dan Hanson (38) and Walker (35 not out) took their side home.

Wilsden’s batsmen haven’t found their feet at the moment as they were dismissed for 89. This was in answer to Denholme’s 124, as Toby Priestley top scored with 42 as Harrison Holdsworth took 5-27.

Sam Mitchell made 21 as Ryan Judson took 5-31.

Ingrow travelled to Embsay and came away defeated by five wickets. Ingrow were restricted to 150-9 with Tom Tetley (46) being the top scorer and Haroon Ali (3-27) the best bowler. In reply, Ben Keane (50) and David Wellock (40) led Embsay to the spoils.

Meanwhile, the top two in Division Two, Foulridge and Airedale, were both successful. The former were made to sweat before they crossed the finishing line. Foulridge posted 196 with Aamir Mohammed (40) and Chris Gildea (32) leading the way as M Ishtiaq took 3-32. Visitors Long Lee made a tremendous effort to overhaul that score and fell nine runs short. Ishtiaq (37) and Shahbaz Ahmed (36) top scored as Shahbaz Munir took 3-39 and Ummar Farooq 3-57.

Airedale found it a lot easier on their travels to last year's champions, Haworth Road. Airedale rattled up 186-6 thanks to Nazam Hanif (70no) and Chris Gill (38). Their opponents crumpled to 67 all out as Jacob Jagger made 21no and Gill took 3-38.

Five points adrift of the top two are Sandy Lane who encountered few problems beating Eldwick & Gilstead by five wickets.

Gargrave saw off Cowling by 93 runs. Joe Wood (86) and Will Smith (50) helped the visitors to 244-7, with Charlie Hassan taking 3-34. The homesters replied with 151 with U Saadat (37) and Mark Adams (34) top scoring as Stuart Weatherill (4-19) and John Beckwith (3-31) doing most of the damage.

Another promoted club, Cononley easily saw off Chatburn in South Craven. They had Charles Calvert (43) and Matt Phillip (33) to thank mainly for reaching 152-7 in their overs as Chris Mulhern took 3-31. In the reply of 98, Neil Cartledge (40) was the only player to reach double figures as Herbie Starkey (5-15) did the damage with the ball.

The third promoted club Bradford & Bingley III are not fairing as well as the other two. They entertained Glusburn and went down by 39 runs at Wagon Lane. Bradford made 138 going first with Steve Brown making 72. The reply closed on 99 with Brown taking 3-7, Azhar Iqbal 3-36 and Bryan Hollis 3-45.
