UNDERCLIFFE and Wrenthorpe are the new joint leaders of the All Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League Championship Division One after both picked up important 19-point wins.

Morley dropped from first to third, five points behind the top two, after having their unbeaten record ended by Undercliffe.

A fourth-wicket partnership of 152 between Fahid Rehman (98) and overseas player Khalid Usman (56) changed the course of the game for Undercliffe.

They were floundering at 25-3 when the pair came together, and even the loss of seven wickets for 24 runs after Usman’s dismissal didn’t seem to unduly trouble Undercliffe as they posted a total of 201.

Sanga Cooray was Morley’s most successful bowler with 4-37, while fellow spinner David Nebard finished with 3-70.

Cooray launched the Morley innings with a series of lofted drives in his 37, but the pick of the Morley batsman was Richard Jubb with 62.

Morley’s middle-order batting fell away as spinner Usman (3-31) and seamer Michael Kelsey (3-29) prospered.

The visitors were finally all out for 162 to lose by 39 runs.

Wrenthorpe were in a team in a hurry as they brushed aside second-from-bottom Hartshead Moor by eight wickets.

The home side were soon regretting their decision to bat first as Jonathan Rudge (6-26) and Awais Ejaz (4-25) skittled them out for just 52, with Michael Donnelly making 31.

Gomersal are fourth after defeating Batley by four wickets.

Joe Duffy continued his good form with an unbeaten 44 and skipper Graham Hilton made 33 as Gomersal passed Batley’s total of 156.

Huzaifah Patel (3-28) was the best of the Batley bowlers.

Left-arm spinner Chris Rhodes (4-17) and Richard Wear (3-63) enjoyed the most success with the ball as Batley were bowled out.

There was a close finish at Pudsey Congs, where the home side edged a one-wicket win over Bankfoot.

Opener James Ford (71) was the key to Congs’ successful pursuit of Bankfoot’s 183 all out, but they also needed a valuable 24 not out from tail-ender Jamie Allen to see them over the line.

Arsaam Malik (3-31) and Jawad Waheed (3-32) weren’t quite able to save Bankfoot from defeat,

Waheed had earlier top-scored with 44, while Shanz Prangige made 39 in the visitors’ innings.

Mustafa Raffique was the most impressive bowler with 5-47.

Veteran spinner Mushtaq Ahmed turned another game Baildon’s way with a decisive spell of 6-31 in their 29-run win at Yeadon.

Opener James Todd (54) and Muhammad Naveed (45) shared a third-wicket partnership of 105 for Yeadon before their last eight wickets fell for 39 as they slid to 156 all out.

Baildon were indebted to Ijaz Ahmed (38no) and Australian Blair Oakley (36) for helping them to a total of 185 as Paul Machell (4-52) and James Massheder (3-34) posed questions.

Bottom team Ossett are still searching for the first win after losing a tight game with Hunslet Nelson.

New signing Oliver Newton (42) battled hard for Ossett but lacked effective support as his side were bowled out for 123.

Nelson skipper Will Stiff played a key role in his side’s success with 5-24, while left-arm spinner Danny Cross added to his wicket tally with 3-40.

Former Wakefield St Michael’s all-rounder Joe Finnigan took 3-31 when Nelson were bowled out for 132 after batting first.
