ALL Rounder Cricket Bradford Premier League champions Hanging Heaton secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Priestley Cup with a six-wicket-win over Methley.

An unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 138 between Ben Kohler-Cadmore (78no) and Ishmail Dawood (73no) enabled them to surpass Methley's 275-5 with 5.2 overs to spare.

It was revenge for the league defeat last season's beaten finalists inflicted on Hanging Heaton in the Premier Division just eight days earlier.

Kohler-Cadmore and Dawood built on the earlier work of Joe Fraser (48) as they took the game by the scruff of the neck.

Methley must have fancied their chances when they built a challenging total batting first.

Jordan Laban (88no) and Adal Islam (78) shared a second-wicket stand of 111 before Dan Shuffe chipped in with 33.

David Stiff emerged as the best of the bowlers with 3-51.

Holders New Farnley were in good form as they defeated Pudsey St Lawrence on a comparison of scores after their game was hit by rain with St Lawrence in all sorts of trouble at 63-8 after 25 overs.

Spinner Luke Jarvis posed problems with 4-18.

New Farnley skipper Lee Goddard promoted himself to opener in the absence of Martin Andersson and made a century.

There were 15 fours in Goddard's 104 and he was joined in a third-wicket alliance of 103 by Yorkshire wicket-keeper Andrew Hodd (57) as New Farnley made 226.

The most successful St Lawrence bowler was skipper Chris Marsden (4-30).

Lightcliffe and Gomersal both posted scores in excess of 300 as they secured their places in the last eight.

Lightcliffe, who last won the trophy in 2013, made 314-4 as they hammered East Bierley by 220 runs.

Opener Alex Stead showed his class with the day's highest individual score of 122.

There were two sixes and 15 fours in his innings, which was backed up by the efforts of Jonathan Wilson and Suleman Khan, who both made 55.

Wilson shared in a second-wicket partnership of 143 with Stead as the East Bierley bowlers were made to suffer.

East Bierley crumbled to 94 all out as spinners Josh Wheatley (4-18) and Chris Greenwood (4-32) got to work.

Gomersal made 305-8 as they overcame fellow Championship One side Batley by 108 runs.

Richard Wear led the way with a fine 111, which contained two sixes and 11 fours.

Opener Liam Thomas (60) had got the innings off to a good start before Wear and, finally, Jack Seddon (71) took over.

Wear and Seddon added 107 for the sixth wicket.

Mohammad Shahnawaz (4-47) was the best of the Batley bowlers, while Naveed Zamurad (73) was top scorer when they were bowled out for 197.

Left-armer James Russell was the pick of the bowlers with 4-51, while that man Wear chipped in with 3-31.

Woodlands, winners in 2016, defeated neighbours Cleckheaton by 64 runs.

Left-arm opening bowler Muhammad Bilal took 5-18 as Cleckheaton were dismissed for 92, and spinner Chris Brice chipped in with 3-20 against his old club.

Umar Salim (32) made the highest score in the match to help Woodlands to 156. Jonathan Whiteoak returned 3-18 for Woodlands.

Farsley had little trouble brushing aside Scholes by nine wickets.

Spinners James Logan (3-21) and Adam Ahmed (3-23) helped bowl out Scholes for 106.

Farsley romped to their target with James Wainman making 52 not out and Dan Hodgson 40.

Championship One leaders Wrenthorpe had a surprisingly comfortable 124-run win over Undercliffe.

They made 225-9 before bowling out their rivals for 101.
