KEIGHLEY'S Richard Robinson has won a top groundsmans' award for the second successive year.

He went to Lord's to pick up the MCC Universities' Groundsman of the Year award for 2017.

Robinson, who looks after Leeds-Bradford MCCU's Weetwood complex in Leeds, won the prize outright this time, having shared it last year with Cambridge University MCCU.

Robinson, who is the Bradford League's record run-scorer with 17,471 runs, said: "You are judged on things such as pace, bounce and carry and whether you can prepare a wicket that gives assistance to the seamers and pace bowlers early on and helps the spinners later on."
