WITH four weeks to go until the end of the season, championships, finals day play-off places, promotions and relegations are all still up for grabs in the Bradford & District Evening League.

The regular season has been extended by two weeks, with the games that were due to be played on April 25 moving to August 1 (due to the wet weather) and the games that were due last Wednesday moving to August 8 (due to England's involvement in the World Cup).

Ciroc head Division One on 16 points, just two points ahead of Greenfield.

Both teams have already played each other twice this season, with Ciroc coming out on top in both games, so Greenfield will need help from other teams if they are to prevent the leaders from retaining their title.

There is then a three-point gap to an improving Denholme outfit on 11 points, who still have an outside chance of wrestling the second Finals Day spot away from Greenfield, especially as they meet each other at Keighley Road on August 1.

Crossflatts and Raja's share fourth spot on 10 points and both also still harbour outside hopes of making the Finals Day, but realistically only if they win their final four games and other results go their way.

That leaves John Breare (8 points), Thornton (6) and, surprisingly, Shelf (5) to battle it out to avoid the two relegation places.

In Division Two, runaway leaders Undercliffe (17 points) have been pegged back slightly following their first loss of the season last time out to fellow new boys and fellow Bradford League outfit, and now championship rivals, Buttershaw St Paul's (15), who are making a strong finish to the season.

Hot on the heels of St Paul's for the second promotion spot, and a place in Finals Day, are surprise Halifax League packages Bradshaw (13).

Great Horton Park Chapel's hopes of returning to the top flight are starting to fade as they lie in fourth on 12 points, followed by Azeems who, on 10, are enjoying a relatively successful start in their first season in the Evening League.

There is then a gap of four points to another new team coming to terms with midweek cricket, Keighley-based Ingrow, who include a number of players from Halifax League neighbours Oxenhope.

Long standing Evening League campaigners and supporters Cross Roads & Daisy Hill are seventh with four points, while new boys Muff Field are still looking for their first win, although they have been competitive, enthusiastic and positive.
