THINGS are hotting up at the top of the Mewies Solicitors Craven League as both leading sides lost in Division One and Oakworth won, closing the gap to two points.

Leaders Barrowford lost at Embsay by eight wickets, while Bingley Congs were at Sutton, with both sides missing key players.

Congs found themselves 81-7 before some tail-wagging got them up to 134, No 9 Harry Greenhalgh making 27 as Richard Walker (3-27) and James Mcdonald (3-33) were the best bowlers.

Dave Snowden (47) and 'Mr Extras' (41) were the top scorers for the Royd Hill side, who won by seven wickets.

Oakworth entertained bottom side Hepworth & Idle and skittled them for 80, with Jack Ellis taking 4-18 while there were three wickets apiece for Richard Cavendar and Tom Fothergill.

Drew Duffy made 49 as the Cure Hill side cruised to a nine-wicket victory.

Next-to-bottom Wilsden were at Haworth, who made 195-6, with Jamie Rowell (82, including nine fours and four sixes) and Adam Bailey (35) being the main run-getters.

The Windy Grove side replied with 142 of which Harrison Houldsworth (43) top-scored as Stephen Bell took 4-31 and Damian Rowell 3-23.

Ingrow pulled off a shock win at Denholme to ease their relegation fears.

The Bradford Road side posted 192-6, with Richard Taylor making 65 and Michael Dennison 47 as Will Rankin took 2-12 off 12 overs.

The Hainworth side then romped home by five wickets, with Jake Hoyle hitting 64 and Wayne Exley 51 not out as Toby Priestley spun his way to 3-36.

Wasim Hussain (3-12) and Mayank Singh (3-17) played a big part in restricting Haworth Road Meths to 88 on their visit to Crossflatts.

Vijay Amirtharaj (51no) and Alex Bradbury (31no) then took the Ryshworth Park side to a splendid 10-wicket victory.

Foulridge are four points clear at the top of Division Two after demolishing Cowling at Noyna in their top-of-the-table clash.
