HANGING Heaton have reached the national finals of the Vitality ECB Club T20 competition for the first time.
They secured their place in the last four at Derby on September 16 with a convincing 72-run win away to Lincolnshire side Bracebridge Heath in the regional final.
Hanging Heaton are the second Bradford Premier League side to reach finals day. Pudsey Congs achieved the feat in 2015 when they were beaten in the semi-finals by Exmouth at Cardiff.
Once again Hanging Heaton made scoreboard pressure count after batting first and making 186-8. Skipper Gary Fellows set the tone for his side with 61, while his normal opening partner Nick Connolly made an important 36 in the middle order.
Will Carter (3-34) proved to be the best of the home bowlers and he also proved to be their most useful performer with the bat. He top scored with 52 but lacked support as his side were dismissed for 114.
Left-armer Josh Holling (3-18) and off spinner Callum Geldart (2-31) helped Hanging Heaton book their place at Derby.
