FATHER and son John (45) and Bradley Akrigg (50) put on 91 as Steeton chased Addingham’s 175 total in Division Two of the Aire-Wharfe League, but it was not enough to prevent a 22-run defeat.

The younger Akrigg, Joe Stead and Stephen Pearson all picked up three wickets, and visitors Addingham were indebted to a crucial 37 from all-rounder Ricky Palacio, which helped them to post a defendable target.

Steady bowling from Palacio (3-43) and Ted Haggas (3-46) saw the home side dismissed for 153, leaving them just above the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, in Division Three, Harden haven’t given up hope of promotion and they looked in good form in a high-scoring match at Menston.

Andy Wear hammered 144 and he put on 212 with Josh Brooksbank (77) and 90 with Daniel Giblin, whose unbeaten 68 came in just 26 balls.

Nadeem Asghar (79) ensured Menston put up a spirited effort chasing 335, but they were eventually bowled out for 271, with Matthew Hogg taking 5-50.

In Division One, Otley took another step towards the double while pushing Guiseley closer to relegation.

Skipper David Hester produced a 5-19 spell that restricted Guiseley to just 126 before hitting 40 as Otley eased home with six wickets to spare.

That keeps cup winners Otley 27 points clear of second-placed Burley, who thrashed Ilkley. Jason Wright (55 not out) helped Burley to 202-7 before Sam Fox (4-29) ensured Ilkley were dismissed for 131.

Pool eased their relegation worries with victory at Follifoot and are well clear of the drop after Beckwithshaw crashed to defeat at Bilton.

Meanwhile, Collingham crushed Colton to stay top while Hall Park renewed their promotion challenge, Marco Wyngard (65) starring as they beat Leeds Modernians by 74 runs.

That put Park just four points behind second placed Tong Park Esholt, who were surprisingly hammered by Saltaire.

Zahid Nissar hit a century as Saltaire reached 218-8 before Adeel Ashraf produced a devastating 9-26 spell to skittle out Tong Park for 90.

The Division Three promotion race took another twist when leaders New Rover were bowled out one run short of St Chads’ 268 total.

That allowed Bardsey, comfortable winners over Shadwell, to take top spot while Green Lane moved closer to the promotion places with an easy win over Thackley.

Azhar Mahmood (4-27) and Nadeem Saldar (4-12) saw Thackley collapse to 118 and Imran Zaman hit 59 as Lane eased home.

Opener Reehan Butt (63) guided Bolton Villas to 279-9, with Ben Holderness taking 5-62. Tom Starkey hit 76 in Skipton’s reply but with Sam Lawrence taking 4-64, they came up 41 runs short.
