THERE were only four games in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division as most of the clubs were involved in Buildbase FA Vase action but Albion Sports failed to make the most of a home fixture.

The Albion Lions welcomed Hemsworth Miners' Welfare to Throstle Nest and dropped two places in the table after a 2-0 defeat.

The visitors took a third-minute lead through Brad Dockerty and sealed their win when Jed Rashid added to it an hour later.

Hemsworth leapt three places to become the new leaders, while the defeat for the home side saw Kulwinder Sandhu’s men tumble out of the top ten to 12th.

It was also a bad day for Steeton in the Hallmark Security League as they suffered their heaviest defeat since stepping onto the non-league ladder.

The Chevrons were beaten 5-1 at Bacup Borough, and the writing was on the wall from the off as the home side scored in the first minute.

Matt Dell broke the deadlock and, although Andy Lee levelled in the 19th minute, the home side led 3-1 at the interval after goals from Anthony Hall and Adrian Bellamy.

Bacup’s Dell bagged his brace just three minutes into the second half, and a Michael Gervin strike late on saw the home side go nap.

That lifted them five places up to 12th, while Roy Mason’s men remained in fifth spot.
