SUTTON'S Jason Jennings won the final of the Dick Keighley Cup at Gargrave.
He beat Oxenhope's David Hemsley 21-10 after producing some fine bowling.
Jennings got the better start to lead 6-4, but he could not get clear.
The match was still close fought at 12-8 until he then found three doubles to go 18-8 clear.
Hemsley could not get back as Jennings finished the match with two good singles
The green at Gargrave was in good order although the weather was a bit damp for the first round matches.
The popular competition is for non first division bowlers, giving somebody a chance for a good prize at local level.
First round matches saw Sutton brothers Jason Jennings take on his brother James.
It proved to be a good game with Jason just getting the better of James 21-15.
More Sutton players were also in good form, Dennis Wynne Jones getting the better of Alden Phillips 21-5, Anthony Emmott got the better of Margaret Slater 21-12, while Peter Peacock produced a good performance to beat Kevin Burnett 21-16.
Craven bowler Warren Burnett had the best first-round match with a good 21-20 win over Peter Deighton, the ladies where paired up and Cath Leigh just got the better of Anna Stead 21-19.
Rolls skipper Steven Naylor bowled well to win 21-11 against Alan Barber, David Hemsley completed the first round matches with a win over Billy Stead 21-9.
The quarter finals saw Jason Jennings continue his good form with a 21-9 win over Steven Naylor, David Hemsley was also looking good with a 21-9 win against Peter Peacock.
The other two quarter-finals went the way of Sutton bowlers, Dennis Wynne Jones beating Cath Leigh 21-10, while Anthony Emmott was made to work hard for a 21-16 win over Warren Burnett.
In the semi-finals Jason Jennings took on clubmate Dennis Wynne Jones.
It was Jennings who was always in charge, Jones could not get a run with the jack and when Jennings hit three doubles at 12-8 that was the winning break as he moved into the final 21-10. Anthony Emmott was looking to make it an all Sutton final, but David Hemsley would be a tough opponent.
It was Hemsley who got the early lead 11-6, Emmott then produced his best bowls to get a 13-11 lead.
Hemsley just got the better of his opponent to win the match winning 21-18.
