Keighley's Richard Robinson returned to form on Saturday with a century against Bankfoot but his brother-in-law Tim Burnley stole the glory as he scored 149 to help the club second team successfully chase down a total of 304 at Hanging Heaton.

Robinson said: "It was a good day for the club on Saturday. Unfortunately my brother-in-law has the bragging rights. It's not fair.

But Robinson, who was also in-form with the ball, taking 4-33 in 11 overs, joked: "At least Tim didn't a wicket."

Keighley's second team had a mountain to climb after Hanging Heaton blasted their bowling attack and scored a massive 304-6. Ryan Senior led the charge for the home side and was the day's top scorer with 185. He hit an astonishing 15 sixes and 16 fours off 93 balls.

On a tough day for bowlers, James Robinson posted some good figures, taking 3-40 in 15 overs with seven maidens.

In reply the Keighley batsmen thrashed Hanging Heaton's bowlers with opener Burnley leading the way. He had 22 boundaries, including four sixes. Paul Wilkinson also had a knock 47 and youngster Scott Hartley (22 not out) hit the winning runs as Keighley finished on 304-6 with one ball to spare.

Robinson said of Burnley: "He went for everything and it was one of those days for him. No matter what it was a great total for the team to chase down."

Keighley's first team, who have struggled this season, returned to winning ways with an 84-run victory at home to Bankfoot on Saturday.

Batting first on the wicket he maintains, Keighley opener Robinson was unfased by the loss fellow opener Matthew Bottomley for a duck. Robinson dug in and hit his first century of the season. He scored 115 before he was out lbw.

Robinson put his success on Saturday down to his bat, which was made for him by Keighley's Jonathan Smith of JMS Cricket.

Robinson said: "It's definitely down to my new bat. It's put an extra 50 yards on my shots. I could have been caught a few times on the boundary but the ball just carried on."

Robinson received support from his captain Stephen Reape, who has been a rock in a side that has had its struggles early on in the season. Reape hit 58 before being run out.

Robinson said: "Stephen has been one of the only players to show any consistency this season. I haven't had a great start to the season but we need to follow Steve Reape's example. You can't ask any more from your captain."

Robinson said besides Reape, youngsters Max Davidson and Paul Quinlan would be the only others to have played well so far.

Reape and Davidson each took two wickets in the Bankfoot reply, but Robinson did most of the damage with the ball, taking four wickets as Bankfoot fell well short of the Keighley total and closed on 129-9.

In a double header Bank Holiday weekend, Keighley host Spen Victoria on Saturday and travel to Great Horton on Monday. Keighley seconds are away to Yeadon on Saturday and host Bowling Old Lane on Monday.
