Steeton did not warm up for the Waddilove Cup final this coming Sunday in the best possible fashion, losing their encounter with rivals Ilkley by 37 runs.

That has allowed Ilkley to move just 12 points behind Steeton in the Aire-Wharfe League Division Two table, with the latter in the second and final promotion spot.

Stephen Pearson and Paul Quinlan took four wickets each as Ilkley were bowled out for 176.

The Summerhill Laners would have fancied chasing that total down on home turf, but despite Ben Hemsley scoring 48, and Quinlan chipping in with 35 not out, they were skittled for just 139.

Bradley Akrigg (21) was the only other Steeton player to hit double figures.

Harden’s lead at the top of Division Three is down to seven points, after a woeful 134-run defeat at ever improving Thackley.

The Bradford side posted a competitive 219 all out, despite Toby Priestley taking 5-56.

In a bizarre reply, Harden were 5-4, before Owen Narey thumped 49 from 25 balls to propel them to 69-4.

But when he was out to Craig Wiseman, who claimed stunning figures of 8-58, Harden collapsed again to be 85 all out.

Amid all the chaos, poor opener Elliott Wilson carried his bat for 25 not out from 51 balls.
