Steeton have fixed up a mouth-watering charity pre-season fixture against a team featuring Burnley ex-professionals.
The likes of Andy Payton, Ashley Hoskin, Roger Eli and John Francis are set to be among the former Clarets to visit Summerhill Lane on Sunday, August 9 at Summerhill Lane.
The game will be played in memory of Steeton player James Gill’s grandfather Michael Emsley, who passed away in September.
Emsley, a pub landlord from Barnoldswick, was an avid Burnley fan.
The proceeds will go to the British Heart Foundation and the admission charges are adults £5, under-16s £2.
Programmes will be on sale and further details will be released in due course.
News of the match is sure to raise the profile of the club further and comes shortly after it won the programme of the year for the second successive season in the West Riding County Amateur League.
The Division One club thanked Martin Crangle and Andy Lamb for their efforts in producing the publication.
Meanwhile, three new clubs have been accepted into the league, with AFC Emley Reserves and Westbrook YMCA set to play in Division Two, while Hudders-field YMCA will play in the newly-named Division Three (formally the Reserve Division).
Keighley Shamrocks remain in Division One despite finishing second from bottom last season. South Bradford – who finished one place above them – have withdrawn from the league.
It means, along with newly-promoted Bronte Wanderers, three Keighley sides will be in the same division next season.
