Keighley’s Mary Fuller has been selected for England at junior level in an international open tournament at the end of the month.
The 17-year-old Oakbank Table Tennis Club member won three medals at the English National Junior Championships in Sheffield in December.
Now she will represent her country in the Safires International Open Championships in Orebo, Sweden, from February 26-28.
Her coach Hans Soova said: “The selection for England is an incentive for Mary to work even harder.
“Hard work and mental strengths are her hallmark, and Mary’s prolific forehand topspin make her a dangerous player in any competition.”
After that, Oakbank pupil Fuller, who is also a senior international, is preparing for the defence of her National Senior Championships women’s doubles title with Emily Bates next month in Sheffield.
They were the youngest pair to ever win the event last year aged 16 and 13, and in April Fuller has the Junior Masters Championship to look forward to.
