Keighley made it four wins in a row last Saturday to maintain their third place in the JCT600 Bradford League Division Two table.

They made a challenging 238-5 at home to Windhill, who replied with an impressive 229-9.

Although Andrew Waggett and Matthew Bottomley went early, left-hander Simon Bailey then was the central figure in stands of 54 with Imran Patel (22) and 86 with Max Davidson.

Bailey was eventually dismissed for 76, which included ten fours, but Davidson was unbeaten at the end on 72, made off only 73 balls and including four fours and four sixes.

Ayyaz Akram caused them most problems with 3-55 and Windhill had every chance of victory when they were 134-2, Fahid Rehman (45) and Ashan Butt (54) adding 108 for the third wicket, which fell at that mark.

However, Rehman’s dismis-sal triggered a collapse, four wickets falling for just 11.

Umar Abbas (37) and Awais Ejaz (24no) put Windhill back in the picture with a partnership of 47 for the seventh wicket, Arsaian Ijaz (20) and Ejaz then adding 36 for the eighth wicket.

But they couldn’t quite match Keighley’s run rate as Ross Towler (2-27) and Stephen Reape (2-47) pegged them back.

An unbeaten 62 from Call-um Jones steered Keighley II to a five-wicket win at Windhill.

They set up the win by bowling Windhill out for 142 with Paul Wilkinson (5-40) being the pick of the bowlers.

Keighley have not got a game on Saturday as they will be preparing Lawkholme Lane for Sunday’s Sovereign Health Care Priestley Shield final between Yeadon and Baildon.

Keighley brought Satur-day’s fixture forward against Brighouse last month – one of their four straight wins.

Jack Holland battled hard for 59 for Windhill but it wasn’t enough to save his team from defeat, Hammi Shahzad weighing in with 3-29 for Keighley, Richard Robinson taking 2-36.

Keighley had no major stands but plenty of moderate ones as they triumphed in only 29.1 overs.

Jones’ runs came off only 63 balls and included nine fours and a six. He reached his half-century off 55 deliveries.

Opener Liam Dyson had earlier made 22, Daniel Maguire taking 2-21 off seven overs.
