Among the proposed rule changes that failed at the league AGM was one concerning fielding circles.
Beckwithshaw’s proposal, seconded by Kirkstall Educational, that a fielding side must have four fielders excluding the bowler and the wicket-keeper within a 30-yard radius of the wicket as the ball is delivered received only two votes for and 33 against.
There was more support for changes to the points system but all three propositions failed.
A bid to start matches at 1.30pm instead of 1pm, proposed by the management committee and seconded by Skipton, failed by the narrowest of margins, attracting 21 votes for and 15 against.
The league is in good financial shape, making a profit of £1,563 on the year ended September 30, 2010.
