Colne 1, Silsden 0
Silsden could not find a goal at the home of their nearest neighbours and great rivals but it was a good NWCL Premier Division derby at Colne today.
The home side dominated long spells of the first half but only secured the three points with a second half penalty. Colne were then grateful to their keeper, former Cobbdalers’ stopper Chris Thompson, for two superb saves that kept their slender lead intact.
Ben Lamb pulled a forward back inside the area in the 54th minute and Andrew Tinker slotted the spot-kick into the corner. Thompson made superb reaction saves to deny Joe Gaughan and Mike Garrod.
Silsden's defeat came on the back of a 2-1 defeat at Flixton on Saturday.
