Overseas star Majid is proving a big hit for Silsden

Action from Steeton's game with Collingham
It may have been the most miserable June cricket weather in living memory but you won’t find Majid Inayat complaining too loudly.
Silsden’s overseas sign- ing from Oman has shone through the gloom.
He produced another outstanding display to help his side overcome Wood- house, in one of only two Aire-Wharfe League games to produce a result on Saturday.
Inayat’s 52 means he has hit three half centuries and a century in league and cup during June.
Together with Craig Thornton (34) and Matthew Shuttleworth (28), he helped his side to post a score of 164.
Woodhouse have some useful players too, Asim Allam scored 48 in their response, but with Shuttle- worth (3-46) and Alex Bradbury (3-16) pegging away the home side were dismissed for 148.
That was only Silsden’s second win of the campaign but it lifted them to halfway in Division Three.
Following on from a gutsy performance against runaway leaders Colton, it sees them enter the second half of the season with renewed optimism.
Elsewhere, the picture was a gloomy procession to and from the pavilion trying to get matches completed, mostly in vain.
The much anticipated clash between the top two in Division One, Steeton and Collingham, lasted only 20 overs at which stage Collingham had reached 112-3 with John Swain (61no).
In Division Three, Will Atkins (66) and Jason Smith (77) starred in Addingham’s 205-6 with Matthew Bates picking up 4-64 but Horsforth’s inn- ings was ended at 8-0.
There was no joy for Upper Wharfedale. Their Division Two home game with Bolton Villas was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Skipton’s hope of hauling themselves away from the bottom of the table were also thwarted by the rain.
They had made 27-1 when their match with New Rover was halted.
