Steeton’s bid for a Division One champ- ionship and Waddilove Cup double is very much alive.

The league leaders reached the semi-finals of the cup with an emphatic nine-wicket win.

And the team standing between them and a place in the final at Ilkley on August 5 is Ben Rhydding, who pipped them to the Division Two title on the last day of the season.

It is the perfect chance of revenge for Steeton who are setting the pace at the top of Division One.

They showed little mercy for Division Two front-runners Green Lane, who were dismissed for 72, with leg spinner Andrew Luxton taking 3-6 in seven overs.

Craig Walton (45no) led the way to a nine-wicket triumph.

In the other semi-final, Burley – chasing a third successive cup win – face Collingham who defeated underdogs Silsden by seven wickets.

Silsden did Division Three proud with a gutsy display, especially from Lee Bilbrough (50) and Craig Thornton (47), who put on 88 for the fourth wicket in their side’s 143 total.
