Albion Sports enjoyed a confidence-boosting victory at home against struggling Hallam to bank a much-needed three points in the Baris Northern Counties East League Division One tonight.
After a goalless half-hour, Albion broke the deadlock at Horsfall Stadium through Josh Cook but the visitors had levelled before the break.
The home side regained the lead early in the second half when Alex Cusack netted from the spot after Temour Khan had been brought down.
A rapid double from Adam Jones put Albion in complete control before Karl Hall netted the fifth but the visitors claimed a consolation strike ten minutes from time.
Silsden were beaten in the North West Counties League Premier Division, going down 3-1 at home to Wigan Robin Park.
The visitors opened the scoring when Phil Howard rifled in an 18th-minute shot from just inside the area.
Robert Hanley made it 2-0 with an overhead kick just after the hour mark and Paul Cliffe added Wigan’s third before Mike Garrod hit the Cobbydalers’ solitary reply five minutes from time.
