Rebekah Tiler broke nine British records in a weekend competition
Denholme ’s Rebekah Tiler can now lay claim to be Great Britain’s strongest schoolgirl.
The Bingley Grammar School pupil broke an astonishing nine British records during the Northern Weightlifting Bergson Trophy competition at Mytholmroyd Community Centre.
This included two at under-15 level set by Britain’s best-known weightlifter Zoe Smith.
Aire Valley Weightlifting Club member Tiler totalled 153kg – 65kg in the snatch and 88kg in the clean and jerk – and is now looking forward to the British Championships at Bristol on October 20.
